1) What should I wear for a sports massage or treatment?

You should wear whatever you're most comfortable in. However, for females to be most comfortable, shorts and a bra or sports bra are ideal. For males, just a pair of shorts or boxer shorts are fine.

2) Are there parking facilities at the clinic?

Yes, there are free parking facilities that you can utilize during your visit.

3) Is sports massage or deep tissue massage painful?

No, however, sports massage and deep tissue massage can be uncomfortable when locating areas of chronic tension. However, none of the massages or treatments should ever be painful. Often, the objective is to encourage the bodies muscles and other soft tissues to relax, and this can't be achieved using unnecessary, painful technique. To avoid any unnecessary discomfort, good communication between patient and practitioner is essential.

4) Can I bring someone with me?

If it is your first time visiting the clinic, or you are a little nervous, then you are welcome to bring someone such as a parent of close friend with you.

5) How do I pay for the massage or treatment?

Payment can be made by cash or card. If paying by cash, please bring the correct amount with you becasue change may not always be available. Usually, payment is made at the end of each visit, unless you are being refered by a health insurance provider.

6) How many massages or treatments will I need?

As few as possible. I am proud to say that my reputation has been built by helping people. When people are happy with a service, they tell people, and that is how I like to do business. With that said, it is important to be realistic with your expectations. For chronic pain or injury, it is unlikely that just one treatment will get you back on track. For more simple complaints, one visit and some helpful advice may be all you need. The number of massages or treatments that you are likely to need will be discussed with you on your first visit.

7) What should I bring with me?

The only two things that you need to bring with you are the appropriate clothing, and payment for your massage or treatment, unless I have requested that you to bring copies of healthcare notes from a GP for example.

8) Should I shower before attending clinic?

Ideally, yes. Please consider personal hygiene before attending the clinic for a massage or treatment. If poor personal hygiene is considered, then you may be refused treatment.

9) What should I do after the massage or treatment?

This depends entirely on the type of massage or treatment you have received. Aftercare advice will be discussed with you in detail at the end of each visit. However, please feel free to ask any questions if there is something in particular you would like to know about.

10) Are the practitioners fully qualified?

Yes, I am a fully qualified Clinical Sports Therapist, Sports Massage Therapist and Corrective Exercise Specialist. I am also studying for an Masters degree in Osteopathy. I am a member of the Sports Therapy Organization, Complimentary & Natural Healthcare Council and the Institute of Osteopathy. I am also fully insured by Balens Insurance and the Institute of Osteopathy.
