You should wear whatever you’re most comfortable in. However, for females to be most comfortable, shorts and a bra or sports bra IS ideal. For males, a pair of shorts or boxer shorts is fine.

Sports massage and deep tissue massage can be uncomfortable when locating areas of chronic tension. However, none of the massages or treatments should ever be painful. Often, the aim of the treatment is to encourage the bodies muscles and other soft tissues to relax, and this can’t be achieved when unnecessary, painful pressure is used. To avoid any unnecessary discomfort, good communication between patient and practitioner is essential.

Sure, if you’re a little nervous, or it is your first time visiting the clinic, then you’re welcome to a parent of close friend with you.

Payment can be made by cash or card. If paying by cash, please bring the correct amount with you because change may not always be available. Usually, payment is made at the end of each visit, unless you’re being referred by a health insurance provider.

The number of treatments you require to overcome your pain or injury will depend of the nature and severity of your complaint. This information will be discussed with you at the end of your initial visit. Sometimes people visit us even if they’re not seeking treatment. Instead, these people are seeking an explanation of their complaint and advice on the the most appropriate way of managing it. For these people 1-2 treatments can be really helpful. For others, treatment may take a little longer. We are always open and honest about the most appropriate course of treatment, and involve you in the decision making process at every stage. 

 

There are only two things that you need to bring with you: the appropriate clothing, and payment for your massage or treatment. If you need to bring any thing else such as healthcare notes we will specifically request these from you.

Please consider personal hygiene before attending the clinic for a massage or treatment. If we suspect poor personal hygiene then you may be refused treatment.

This depends entirely on the type of massage or treatment you have received. Aftercare advice will be discussed with you in detail at the end of each visit. However, please feel free to ask any questions if there is something in particular you would like to know about.
